Het is al weer een tijd terug dat ik postte over Closet Visit, een van mijn favoriete blogs waar de fotograaf een kijkje neemt in de kasten van bekende en minder bekende creatievelingen. Toen ik over Closet Visit blogde was net hun allereerste filmpje af, maar, zo was de belofte, de volgende stond al in de steigers. Met heel veel toeval en geluk zag ik het filmpje gisteren op de site terecht komen. Closet Visit gaat in deel twee voor een dromerige, vintage look. Met een Frans muziekje eronder zie ik in gedachten een zakenman-turned-zwerver liedjes uit zijn kindertijd aan de Seine spelen, maar ach, dat is mijn rijke fantasie. Vooral door de muziek doet het filmpje me wat aan cultklassieker Amélie denken. De kleuren zijn softer, de beelden onscherper, maar het roept diezelfde Parisienne-achtige sfeer op. A while ago, I posted something about one of my favourite blogs, Closet Visit. "Four months ago, the first in a serie of short films has been produced. Each is meant to capture the essence of a Closet Visit star. This first one is all about vintage. the clothes, the locations, the boy, Stella all reinforce that aesthetic. Next up is romantic with Matilde", they said. And yet it is time for Matilde! It is a dreamy kind of short film, with a French vibe. The music reminds me of cult film Amélie, where a vagabond plays the melodion. The soft colours and her beautiful braid, it all breaths 'Viva la France'! The credits in the end are those of a typical 30's black and white movie, so well thought.
